The Servant Center aims to provide dignity, support and hope to homeless and disabled veterans. For almost 20 years, The Servant Center has served as a source of hope and healing for those who are experiencing homelessness, hunger and disability.
One out of three homeless people have formerly served our country. According to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, the vast majority of homeless Veterans are single men, and come from poor, disadvantaged communities. 45 percent suffer from mental illness and half suffer from substance abuse problems.
The Servant Center along with The Triad Veterans and Military Resource Coalition (TVMRC) are compelled to stand in the gap and improve the lives of Veterans and their families. The Servant Center’s annual fundraiser, “Salute!” helps to bring awareness to this cause as we seek to end cycles of homelessness.
The fundraiser is sure to provide an evening of entertainment, while also raising necessary funds to continue the work of The Servant Center and capacity for TVMRC. The event will be a promenade to the World War II era, depicting the 1940s through a variety show featuring First in Flight's "Letter's From Home”an Andrews Sisters Tribute group, swing dancers, and displays that allow guests to be “transported” to the World War II era.
